ReModel
Read, Run, Reuse Open Simulation Models
This is the website for ReModel - a club for healthcare simulation enthusiasts to meet and engage in reusing open simulation models.
Our mantra when it comes to healthcare simulation is Read, Run, Reuse.
There is already a wealth of simulation models that are not being used to their full potential. ReModel is a project that aims to change this by making it easier to read, run, and reuse open simulation models.
If you are a healthcare analyst with an interest in simulation, or a simulation modeller who wants to learn how to better share your work, then ReModel is for you.
This website is a hub for ReModel activities. ReModel is hosted by the Strategy Unit.

Cycle 1: Non-Elective Flow Simulation
Cycle 1 focuses on the open-source Non-Elective Flow Simulation, a discrete-event simulation of patients moving from the emergency department into same-day emergency care or an inpatient bed. We will explore how bed capacity, length of stay and same-day emergency care activity affect queues and waiting times.
Registration for this cycle covers both online sessions:
- Running the model: 30 September 2026
- Reusing the model: 28 October 2026
NOTE: THIS IS STILL DRAFT AND A WORK IN PROGRESS
